Paige Saba, trained Wilson practitioner, will perform one Dyslexia screening. The session screening generally takes 2 hours and retails for $200. It will evaluate phonological awareness, reading skills, and other cognitive abilities related to dyslexia. The goal of dyslexia screening is to detect the potential presence of dyslexia early on so that appropriate interventions and support can be provided. The screener consists of two tests that reveal specific weaknesses and strengths in your child’s knowledge of the alphabet, their reading and writing skills, their ability to manipulate words, and their recall speed. The two tests identify those students who are at greatest risk for dyslexia, and measure if they have the key biological factors needed to be a successful reader.The information gleaned from this screen allows you to make an informed decision about pursuing tutoring as an intervention for poor reading and writing skills, about seeking accommodations in school, and deciding if you should invest in a formal evaluation and diagnosis for your child. Items can be collected when you check out after the live auction. If you are not attending the Gala, you may pick up your items at The Galena Center for the Arts.
A note from Galena Center for the Arts: Welcome to our 3rd Annual Galena Center for the Arts Fundraising Gala. Our Gala is "Embrace the Experience," which is reflected in many of our auction items. Our online and in-person auction is raising money to support our arts programming, fund building upkeep, and keep the Center running. Item delivery: Thank you for being so supportive of the Galena Center for the Arts! After you have paid for any auction items that you won, items must be picked up either on the night of the auction at the event at Eagle Ridge Inn and Resort or at the Galena Center for the Arts, 971 Gear Street, Galena, Thursday - Sunday from 1:00-4:00 p.m. Item pick up should occur before November 1, 2025. Items will not be mailed. Please get in touch with the Center at 815-402-3111 if an extension of time for pick up is needed; otherwise, items not picked up by the deadline may be donated back to the Center to use for future auctions.
